“Great hotel but a bit dated. Restaurant and bar area are great, food fantastic if a little pricey. Pool could use a refurb and the jacuzzi was closed disappointingly Great location, great staff. I went with a superior room which was lovely and spacious but very dated. Would stay again but wouldn’t pay extra for an upgraded room.”

“The room was immaculate and the staff very attentive. The breakfast was amazing, with so much choice, and the bar was a lovely, relaxing area with very helpful bar staff. Our afternoon tea for two was delicious and very refined. We also loved the Agatha Christie connection to the hotel and it was lovely to see other guests dressed up in Agatha Christie era outfits. “Had to cancel our trip due to a medical emergency and flight cancellation. Contacted all hotels we had booked—five refunded us without issue. Even Ryanair did. Cairn Hotel was the only one that flat-out refused, no empathy, no flexibility, not even a partial credit. I explained everything, even pleaded—but they just hid behind their “policy.” I could’ve paid more for the flexible rate, but budget was tight. Shame, because we were really looking forward to staying. Very disappointing experience.”

“This is a very well located hotel with stylishly furnished rooms and very comfortable beds. The kitchenettes in the rooms are handy - and there is a tesco express across the road. However, the first room we were allocated had an absolutely terrible damp smell. Luckily we were able to reach management via phone (despite it being 10pm) and they gave us a different room, which smelt fresh. This was fine for a couple of nights, but we wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer because the room didn’t have...

“Room very clean afew things could be addressed in bathroom basin very slow to drain water ,shower hose leaking and bath waste has seen better days small things easily fixed hotel was very nice and food in resturant very good and bar drinks cocktails very nice the bloody mary was excellant”

“Property in a quiet area was nice and about 10 mins from town centre. Did meet a gentleman who gave us our keys to our room but did not see anybody else maybe because we were out most of the time,parking was ok,on aroad in front of hotel,and seemed to be safe. The room was nice and clean and had s good shower.”

“Brilliant hotel. Cosy place (which even had the pub dog greeting us which was amazing!). Only thing preventing this from being 5 stars was the shower facilities. Shower faucet is restrictive which can cause issues if you’re not wanting to get your hair wet. Maybe disposable shower caps could be provided to help this issue. Other than that though a fantastic place in a peaceful location. Would definitely stay again!”
